Early in the morning on Thursday, April 4, at the house of the mayor Dr. Tsvetan Dafov on ul. "Bulair" is an open bottle of incendiary liquid. The homemade bomb was of the Molotov cocktail type, it hit the window, but it did not detonate. A few days before, a similar bottle was thrown at the windows of the neighboring house, in which the family of Mayor Metodi Stamenkov's driver lived. The first incident occurred at the time the mayor was on an official visit to Xanthi, Greece.
In both cases, property damage was caused, but no one was injured. The investigation case in Velingrad is led by the investigator Ivan Petrov. We learned from the Chief of Police of the Ministry of Interior - Velingrad Major Krastev that the police have prepared a plan to search for the perpetrator and are actively working on it. Numerous versions, mainly related to municipal transactions and properties, are under investigation. Mayor Dr. Dafov commented to Union Television that he believed the attack was because of his order to check all privatization deals and concession contracts.
The handwriting of the perpetrator or perpetrators is too unprofessional. The rude attack on the mayor of the municipality has its analogue: during Vlado Stoenchev's tenure, he was shot at, and the police immediately found the culprit. Such attempts to influence the mayor's institution are inadmissible and therefore law enforcement should do everything possible to quickly expose and punish the "bombers".
