On January 31, a meeting of the Zonal Council of the BFS was held in Shumen. The agenda also considered the proposal related to increasing the number of teams in the "B" groups from 16 to 18.



From a conversation with Mr. Dobri Peev, head of the RS of the BFS in Pazardzhik, who took part in the meeting, we understood that this proposal had been accepted. Since the 2002/2003 season. All "B" groups become with 18 teams. This immediately affected the playing football teams in the district groups. In this situation, the requirement for only the top player in the respective district group to play a barrage is dropped for this year. Now the second in the standings is also given the opportunity to participate in the qualifying matches. It is clear that this decision will calm the situation in our group, since both Hebar and Chepinets-Beev have the best chances to take the first two places. It takes a miracle until the end of the championship to come to the option of either of these two teams failing. Matches of leaders to the end exclude such an opportunity, but relaxation and understatement can play a bad joke on everyone.
Mr. Peev also reminded of one important detail. In the matches of the barrages for entry into the "C" groups will be able to play only footballers who are carded before the spring half-season renewal (i.e. before 2 March 2002). Perhaps in the headquarters of Chepinets-Beev should think about this issue and assess well exactly who and what kind of footballers they will need for the barrages to file them in time. After March 2, newly carded footballers will not have the opportunity to participate in the barrages. All this is done in order to avoid the vicious practice of past years. In a desire to achieve their goals at all costs, some teams hired for ten days good players from other teams and used them only for decisive, important matches. The mercenaries then went back to their previous teams. This decision intersects such attempts and each team will have to rely on the players available before the renewal of the spring half-season.
