Until now, for 5 years on April 21, the Center for Business and Information celebrated its birthday with a large meeting of partners. But after the division of the business center last year, the tradition inevitably underwent a change. On April 21, CBI-ARR still organized a celebration, which marked 3 years since the establishment of the herb incubator in Draginovo. Today is a sad day because CBI-ARR and the municipal enterprise are not together, did not hide her emotions ex-director Svetla Papukchieva. Among the guests of the celebration was the current director of the municipal business center Daniela Peneva, who was honored to come to greet her colleagues and was the only one of the guests who delighted them with a bouquet of flowers. The event was attended by Deputy Mayors Eli Glaveeva and Mehmed Karamolla, municipal councilors and business partners of the agency.
In his short speech, interim mayor Atanas Vodev said that the people of CBI-ARR are pioneers of what we are all expected to do with full speed - to win and implement projects. Where CBI-ARD are partners, usually things happen and it is well, was Mr. Vodev's assessment. CBI-ARR Director Vaska Milusheva summarized the achievements so far during the 3 years of work of the herb incubator. The figures prove that the pre-set goals of providing alternative employment, utilization of waste land and development of organic farming have been achieved. With herbs, nearly 120 acres of land have already been sown in the municipalities of Velingrad and Rakitovo, there is a nursery of 5 acres, an experimental base of 11 acres, a dryer for herbs and fruits was built. A huge achievement is that the seedlings are now organic after obtaining certification for 222 acres of land in the region. 140 people have been trained, and to the current 47 families from the municipalities of Velingrad and Rakitovo there are now 20 new families from Gotse Delchev and Vakarel. The experience of the successful herb incubator in Draginovo is developed in 7 more municipalities. And the future plans are to build an irrigation installation, a storage facility and open points for the purchase of wild herbs and fruits.
Svetla Papukchieva told about some of the new projects in which Velingrad will find a place through CBI-ARR. A large project has been launched, which is funded by the British Embassy and has the Ministry of Agriculture as a partner. It will explain the European standards in the field of organic farming and specifically measure 1.3 under the SAPARD program. Applying for this measure is particularly attractive as it gives one hundred percent direct subsidies for organic production. Under the project, 20 Bulgarian organic producers will receive free expert assistance in the preparation of the projects, some of them will be able to explore the experience in the UK and Sweden on site.
Through CBI-ARR in Velingrad goes a study on a project for women's entrepreneurship, which is done in 12 municipalities. Two companies from Velingrad will be included in the handbook "Bulgarian business in the EU". The new regional initiative "Mesta - Chepino" for integration of minorities was presented in great detail.
The finale of the evening was a cocktail and the cutting of another cake-unique of the "Mariam" pastry shop, which especially for the occasion was made with decoration of herbs and fruits.
