Written eggs went to European museums

22.03.2005 08:30 •
The already traditional program of the History Museum for Easter eggs during the week received new development, leaving the borders of the country and set out to conquer Europe. The president of the company-sponsor "Pet" Petar Rusev left with the written eggs and documents for pre-arranged meetings, which will lead to cooperation with museums in Germany, Hungary and Moravia.
It is about the Ethnographic Museum and the Old Town Museum in Leipzig and the Historical Museum in Cottbus City, Saxony Province. What is interesting about the museum in Cottbus is that it is the center of the Lusik Serbs, who also practice the decoration of Easter eggs with wax with similar motifs to ours, but their technique is different. The historical museum in the town of Pcs, Hungary specializes in Easter eggs. The South Moravian Museum in the town of Brno holds an astonishing collection of 5,000 Easter eggs from all Slavic countries, including eggs from Velingrad.
And while our country is waiting for 2007 to enter the European Union, the tradition and craftsmanship of our region holds positions in the cultural institutes of the EU member states.
