On February 1, the Organizing Committee for the holding of the Velingrad Festivals of Culture and Art gathered. His work this year is subject to the 30-year anniversary of the holidays. The desire is to keep the tradition, but also to have something new, different from the previous one.
It has been clarified that the day of Velingrad at this year's celebrations will be July 6, and since this is almost the beginning of the tourist season, it will be good for the time of the celebrations to be determined the whole summer as their closure to take place on September 6 - the day of Unification. At the "first reading" were adopted the proposals of the head of "Culture" department Hikmet Kupsoso, to make 30 plaques dedicated to the anniversary, to be awarded to 30 people with a special contribution to the culture of the city and the municipality. Dimitar Mechev's proposal within the jubilee celebrations to have 3 days (for example 12,13 and 14 July) to launch "Velingrad - capital of brass orchestras" was also accepted. It became clear that they have already confirmed participation and within the holidays there will be two concerts - violin and keyboard.
