This issue arose before the Municipal Council when discussing the means of maintenance and repair of the municipal road network.
The municipality has 12 200 leva to repair the street pavements under a construction program and another 50,000 leva from the Privatization Fund. They have not been mastered, as a procedure for selecting a contractor is underway.
The Ministry of Regional Development allocated 80 000 leva for the roads Rohlevo - Krastava and St. Petka - Allendarovo and 180 000 leva for the section from Sarnitsa to Orlino. So far, about 150,000 levs have been absorbed. After a limited competition, the company "Patstroy" Pazardjik was chosen. An open procedure was started for the winter maintenance of the roads, but it was terminated because only two candidates appeared: "Road Maintenance" Pazardzhik and "Beev and Beev". According to the new Public Procurement Act, the requirement for 3 companies was dropped, but since the procedure has started under the old law, we are waiting for an opinion on which law to continue it, explained Deputy Mayor Recep Hodzhov. Because of the bitter experience of the public procurement for cleanliness, when the interim mayor St. Dulev signed a contract with Beev and Beev without even waiting for the threatened deadline for appeal, the councilors raised the question why the municipality has not invited more companies to participate. Only one company from the municipality has read that there is an announced competition, stressed Atanas Vodev and asked for the ad, which showed that it was not even specified for what amount the public procurement was for. If we wanted to win a certain company, the competition would have appeared the necessary 3 companies, explained Stoyan Dulev. But when asked by Venko Bozev that the contest was late and if snow fell, there was no readiness who would clean, Mr. Hodzhov explained that if there was no new performer, the old one would remain - "Beev and Beev". This confirmed doubts that the company of deposed mayor Fidel Beev could receive another public procurement, the total value of which according to R. Beev. Hodzhov is about 47,000 leva.
