Minimum BGN 400,000 in the municipal treasury - this is the forecast of Mayor Stoyan Dulev at the start of the procedure for sale of the working dormitory. The municipality will sell a plot of 2744 sq.m. and a four-storey building with a built-up area of 518.44 sq.m. close to the hospital on bul. "Unification".
The building has been crumbling for 15 years, the municipality has almost no other municipal property and there is a pressing need for money: BGN 180,000 for expropriation of the private plot in Fantasia kindergarten, about BGN 150,000 for inclusion of two schools in projects of the SIF, money for equipment for hemodialysis, etc. We will have a stable buyer and it will be better than now, St. Dulev.
These motives of the mayor convinced the councillors to open the procedure, although there were also votes against. Dimitar Kasapski was adamant that he would vote against the sale because there are enough hotels in Velingrad and the hospital is one and according to the new requirements it may not reach a green area. However, Atanaska Hrischeva recalled that the dormitory had been offered to Dr. Tikov as an option before the construction of a new hospital began and he replied that the building did not meet the conditions for a hospital. The city council decided that he would have the final say in setting the opening auction price. Further increased requirements of the documentation fee and the required deposit are expected.
