1 JUNE Days before the children's holiday 1 June Kindergarten "Joy" with director Mrs. Tanya Golomehova kept the tradition, which for years has been pleasing children and parents. In the yard of the garden the children made their annual concert, this time under the motto "The Magic of Health". The concert was for charity purposes in favor of CDG "Joy". On the very 1st of June they celebrated all the children in Velingrad - first with the show "Gotsometsania" on Sunday, and then with the big concert of the Municipal Children's Complex on Monday.



The day of Botev and of those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria 2 June will be celebrated in Velingrad with the raising of the national flag and the laying of flowers in front of the monument of the revolutionary poet. The celebration, organized by the municipality, will begin at 11 am on June 2.

The Interdepartmental Commission on Disasters and Accidents allocates 235,000 leva for preventive cleaning of the riverbeds in the municipality of Velingrad. 200,000 leva were allocated for the river in Draginovo, where a man died recently in an accident. The remaining 35,000 leva are for the bed of the Chepinska River.

CLEAN The National Campaign "For a Clean Environment" announced the winning projects that will receive funding from the MPEPA to the Ministry of Environment. Among the approved projects are the Municipality of Velingrad, the municipalities of Cholakovo, Birkovo, Xotandovo, the school "Metodi Draginov" and Kindergarten "Slanchice" in Velingrad. The program allocates up to 3000 leva for educational institutions and up to 10 000 leva for projects of municipalities related to improvement of cleanliness and landscaping.

The head of the dam area "Batak" to " Dams and Cascades" Eng. D. Yanev informed that within the framework of the annual technical inspection, a test opening of the main outlet of the dam will take place. The manipulation will take place on 3 June 2009, Wednesday, in the time from 9.00 to 15.00. The opening will be for a period of 20 minutes, after which the water will be drained. In view of the safety requirements, preventive measures will be taken for the departure of people, animals and equipment in the areas around the Mutnitsa River, which will be flooded.

On May 27 in Velingrad was launched the IX National Conference "Days of Emergency Surgery". This year the meeting is traditionally in BLC "Kamena" and was opened by Deputy Mayor Valentina Tsvetanova. The main topic of the two-day conference was acute intestinal obstruction.

The Bulgarian Red Cross, BRC - Velingrad and "Blood Bank" Plovdiv organized a blood donation action. On May 30, a point for those willing to donate blood was working in the central square in Velingrad, which was not many.

HOROVES The Choral Meeting Dedicated to the 90th Anniversary since the establishment of a mixed choir in Velingrad and 80 since the birth of N. Gyaurov, postponed to June. The meeting was scheduled for May 29, but coincided with the day of national mourning over the severe crash near Yambol that claimed the lives of 17 people.

On June 2 at 5.30 pm in the Art Gallery the Military TV channel will visit with a film about Nikolay Ghiaurov. The occasion for the screening is the 5th anniversary of the death of the great opera singer and honorary citizen of Velingrad.

Self-Governance 30 May was a day of self-government at Hristo Botev Elementary School in Velingrad, in which students took the places of the school's management and teachers. On the eve of the Partron celebration, an open-door day was announced and a athletic relay was held.

Clarification: The excmet Dr. Tsvetan Dafov wished to clarify that he did not take part in the competition for municipal controller of "MHAT-Velingrad". In front of v. "Tempo" he stated that he had filed documents, but found out that the contest was a foregone conclusion and therefore did not present his program. According to him, the commission speculated with his participation in the competition.
