BOTEV With a minute of silence on the evening of June 1 was celebrated the Day of Botev and those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria. The celebration was held in front of the monument of the poet, donated to the city by B. Kostov. In front of a small audience, the mayor Dr. Dafov read a speech, played the student music from Chepino and was performed a recital on Botev poems. Wreaths and flowers served Municipal Administration, ODF and Coalition for Bulgaria.

THE PRESIDENT On May 31, the members of the Literary Club gathered to elect a chairman in place of the deceased Georgi Avramov. Unanimously, the artists united around the candidacy of Avram Gerev and elected him to the post. The club is gearing up to mark 50 years since its inception.

VLASA "Stroycom" started the cleaning of the "Vlasa" gully in Kamenitsa, where several landfills were formed. The municipality is urging that after the garbage is cleared, residents in the area should not use the ravine as a garbage pit.

COOPERATION On June 1, a memorandum of cultural cooperation was signed between the Mayor of the Municipality of Velingrad Dr. Dafov and the President of the Yugoslav Folklore Association Dragan Pavlovic. The agreement provides for exchanges between cultural institutions and ensembles in Velingrad and Belgrade.

"Vasil Levski" Secondary School is announced as a center school in the municipality of Velingrad, in which applications for participation in the competitive examinations after the VII class will be submitted. The exams themselves will be held in Pazardzhik. There are talks with the Inspectorate the results and the evaluations and this year they can be learned on the spot in Velingrad.

BANKING Rakitovo is the only municipality in Bulgaria that currently uses the banking service e-banking. The account holders at UBB from Municipal Administration - Rakitovo sign electronic signatures when performing the banking operations.

THEATRE On May 30, the municipality of Velingrad visited the capital to watch the theatre production "Next year at the same time".

GUESTS The mayor of the Greek municipality of St. George visited the Center for Business and Information. The Greek guests got acquainted on the spot with the opportunities for mutual partnership with companies from Velingrad.

The municipality and the Social Assistance OS received the cars for which a public procurement was announced during the week. The municipality and social workers will now have two cars, which are not new, but are significantly better than the old fleet.
