UNEMPLOYMENT The municipality of Velingrad again leads the ranking for the highest unemployment in Pazardzhik district. Official figures indicate 25.69% unemployed, which means that every fourth resident of the municipality has no job. In second place is the municipality of Rakitovo with 20% unemployed. For comparison, the average unemployment rate in the country is currently 9.26 - nearly three times lower than in Velingrad.



STACHKA 190 seamstresses from Sarnitsa took effective strike action, as for 5 months the Belgian company "Star Confex" has left them without wages. The conflict is not new, but this time the seamstresses have decided to protect their labor rights until the money is paid. At the end of the week, they received their salaries for February.

In spite of the financial crisis, Yundola is bracing for a council. The tradition will be observed and on August 8 the resort village will welcome guests from near and far with a lot of music, stalls and grills.

A group of socialists from Velingrad participated in the meeting organized by the BSP on Mount Buzludzha. This year it was held on August 31.

ALCOHOL On July 25, the 54-year-old B. T. from Velingrad was caught driving with 1.26 mil of alcohol. The offender spent 24 hours in custody, quick proceedings were initiated.
