Since November 1, the police have started the annual "Light" action. The light signalling of the vehicle will be strictly checked, and from that date they are obliged to drive in low beams and in the light part of the day. What is different this year is that for offenders there will be no grace period, but they will have to pay fines directly.

BUILDINGS The Regional Governor Doncho Baksanov ordered inspections for illegal constructions to be started in the area around Batak Dam. The mayors of the 11 municipalities of the district were asked for information on all building permits issued.

On October 28, the Municipality of Velingrad announced an open competition for the supply of building materials, goods and tools, including timber and concrete products. The estimated value of the order is 142,850 leva and the duration - 12 months. The competition is scheduled for December 1, 2010.

JUBILEE On 29 October in the church of St. George in K. Chepino was celebrated the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great public figure and popular figure Philip Glaveev. Students from Neofit Rilski Primary School took part, who brought flowers to Philip Glaveev's grave in the churchyard. The guest of the celebration was Mayor Ivan Lebanov.

The former director of Hristo Botev Primary School in the district. Kamenitsa Peyo Deliev was invited to a meeting with the students on the occasion of the Day of the National Enlighteners. The topic of his talk was "The establishment of a school in Kamenica and the development of school work in the Chepin region".

Students from Secondary School "Vasil Levski" won an award from the National Club "Rodolyubie" for their participation in the XVII National Competition "Bulgaria - European Identity and Specific Spirituality". Award for presentation was given to Aysel Seferova, Ayshe Kichikova, Vanya Kaloferova, Vera Vargova, Veronika Manusheva, Nelly Katsarova and Iliya Semerdzhiev, and Mrs. Radka Totolakova was awarded as a consultant. The official award ceremony is this week at the National Palace of Children in Sofia.

KOZLODUY The Velingrad amateur theatre at the community center "Otets Paisiy" took part in the theatre festival "Kozloduyska stage", which is established as a theater forum for amateurs.
