The Member of Parliament from Velingrad Angel Daskalov from GERB will work in two committees in the parliament - on labor and social policy and on public order and security. In the second committee he will be together with the MP from the DPS, Delyan Peevski, elected by our region, who was not elected chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission last week.



GORE One of the first significant discharges from office signed by the new Prime Minister Boyko Borisov was of Velingradian Stefan Yurukov. Mr. Yurukov was removed from the position of Chairman of the State Forestry Agency, where scandalous forest swaps were carried out during the last term.

CASE District Prosecutor's Office - Pazardzhik submits to the court an indictment against arch. Manuel Manolov for a crime under art. 149, para. 5 of the Criminal Code - fornication with minors. The District Court case is scheduled for September 17, 2009. The previous time, the court returned the case for a pre-trial investigation for violations in pre-trial proceedings.

AGREEMENT On July 27, a competition was held in the municipality of Velingrad for the selection of an external provider of the service "Day Centre for Elderly People with Disabilities". The only candidate was the National Center for Social Rehabilitation, with whose representative the municipality will conclude a contract.

INVITATION Historical Museum - Velingrad organizes during the week two interesting events and invites the residents of Velingrad and the guests of the resort to visit them. On August 6 (Thursday) at 5 p.m. at the Art Gallery Prof. Diana Gergova, who currently leads the archaeological brigade of Ostrets, will deliver the lecture "Significant archaeological sites in Bulgaria". A day later, on August 7 (Friday) at 5 pm, the Megaliths exhibition will open in the museum.

On August 1, 30 members and supporters of BSP from Velingrad joined the annual meeting of Mount Buzludzha.

AGRICULTURE Velingradian Filip Ustabashiev will take part in the General Assembly of the International Youth Association on European Agriculture Mijarc, which will be held between 8 and 16 August in Etropole.
