On 28 July in Sarnitsa was held a meeting between the mayor of the municipality Ivan Lebanov, the regional governor Georgi Petarneychev, the director of the Regional Road Administration Ivan Dishkov and the mayor of Sarnitsa Mehmed Karamolla. The main problem discussed was the long-delayed repair of the road Velingrad - Sarnitsa. Mr. Petarneichev has reported that complaints filed by the head of the Regional Forest Management Mehmed Veliat about the ownership of sections of the road have been withdrawn. A problem remains the provision of funds for the repair of the road section, which because of the complaints have been redirected to other sites and now funding must be found again.
A real vandal act was performed in the yard of the Historical Museum in Velingrad. On the morning of August 1, the museum workers found broken and overturned benches, uprooted and trampled flowers and vegetation, broken plates. None of the nearby citizens reported the pogrom, the perpetrators of which are unknown.

UNDP Ms. Tanya Shumkova of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was on a visit to Velingrad. Soon it will be 10 years since the establishment of the municipal business center, which was supported by UNDP and now the organization is exploring the good practices in the work of these centers. Ms. Shumkova met with Mayor Ivan Lebanov and with municipal councilors. She visited the ICICB, the Regional Development Agency, the Vocational High School of Forestry, with which UNDP maintains close contacts.
