MEMORY On October 5, a plaque for the Balkan War and the largest detachment from the Chepinska trough, which took part in the fighting, was unveiled in the area of Kara Tepe - 180 Chetniks led by Ivan Botushanov. The SIP Pazardzhik Administrative Court left without consideration the appeal of Mayor Ivan Lebanov and the Regional Governor against the decision of the majority of councilors, by which the municipal enterprise "Sports Properties and Markets" was transformed into a commercial company. The PAS decision is not final and can be challenged before the Supreme Court.

Plamen Alekov, Ivan Staev and Lilia Toporcheva will participate as delegates from Velingrad in the founding conference of the Youth Union of BSP on 10 and 11 October. The new union was joined by young socialists up to the age of 35.

In the village of Cholakovo started the implementation of a project funded by the commission for disasters and accidents. It provides for the construction of sewerage and asphalting of the streets in the center and of the sections to Salihova and Lyotova mahala.

On October 8, the travelling theatre "Sparks and Seasons" will present in Velingrad the play "Bad Boys" by Jean Co. On the stage of the community center "Father Paisii" we will see the actors Ivan Nestorov, Gerasim Georgiev, Ivan Yurukov, Milena Atanasova and Elena Kaneva.

EXHIBITION Another week will continue the exhibition of tapestries arranged by Nelly Chervenkova in the Art Gallery in the House of Color. The initial term of the exhibition is extended to October 11.

On October 1, the mayor of the municipality Ivan Lebanov sent two congratulatory addresses. He made wishes for health and decent old age to the elderly people of Velingrad and the municipality on the occasion of their international holiday. A congratulatory address from the mayor was also given by the local artists who work in the field of art speech and music.
