GERGOVDEN The celebration of May 6 - the day of bravery and the Bulgarian Army will begin at 10.30 with raising the flags in front of the municipality building. After that, there will be a procession to the monument of those who died in the Balkan and Inter-Allied War in front of the church in Ludjene, where wreaths and flowers will be served. From 11 o'clock on the square "Fountains" will start the festive concert of ensemble "Chepino", which will be opened with a speech by the mayor Dr. Dafov.

May 1 Labor Day was not marked with special events in Velingrad. Because of the good weather, many people from Velingrad really worked hard and planted the fields with potatoes. Among the numerous guests of the resort during the holiday day was the UDF People's Representative Ekaterina Mihailova, who toured the central shops.

SUBSCRIPTION The collected signatures against the closure of the Infectious Ward in the Velingrad hospital are now over 600. The subscription will continue this week, after which it will be deposited before the Municipal Council. At a session of the local parliament on May 15, information will be heard from the manager of the hospital Dr. Savova about the closure of the ward.

The competition for manager of the Specialized Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases, Physiatry and Pulmonology in Velingrad was held on 30 April in Sofia. Through the 5-member committee of medics and lawyers appeared two candidates for the post: the interim Dr. Elena Shopova and the working for years in the hospital Dr. Lucien Ardinsky. The results will become known after about 2 weeks.

The officers and sergeants from the reserve in Velingrad will gather on May 7 to treat themselves "to a crutch" for the holiday of the army. The Niagara Restaurant was chosen for the celebration, the chairman of the SOSZ Regiment announced. Georgi Daskalov.

DONATIONS On the eve of Easter, the women from BJS "Hope" visited poor people from Velingrad, to whom they brought food products. The small gifts were purchased with personal funds and are from the heart, said the chairman of the union, Dr. Nezabravka Popova.

The cultural exchange between Velingrad and Serbian cities continues. On May 4 in the hall of the Chitalishte in Chepino there is a folklore ensemble. On 11 and 12 May, a football and basketball team from Serbia will play friendly matches with Velingrad teams.
