The emergency session to decide the future of the municipal company Stroycom is scheduled for June 8, Tuesday, at 16.30. The chairmen of political groups in the Municipal Council discussed the topic on June 1, but the meeting was closed to the media.



Specialists from the Austrian company Wolfgang Eder Consulting visited the municipality of Velingrad at the invitation of Mayor Ivan Lebanov. The company specializes in building strategies for mountain and ski resorts and presented its activities to the Association of Hotel and Restaurantiers. Austrians have become familiar with the potential of Velingrad as a winter resort and with a visit to Yundola, Kurtovo and Belmeken.

Botev Day 2 June was celebrated in Rakitovo with a celebration in front of the monument in the city center. MEDIATOR The Municipality of Velingrad concluded two contracts for the position of "mediator". They will be trained at a certified medical college in Plovdiv by the National Network of Health Mediators Association, with a grant of BGN 750 each. for each of them. As of January 2011. their work will be paid as delegated state activity. Mediators will be appointed for the Roma districts of Anezica and Asphalt Base.

About 1000 people (200 in Velingrad and 800 in the settlements of the municipality) who receive benefits under Art. 9 of the Social Assistance Act, will do community service. 14 days a month for 4 hours they will take care of sanitation and ennoblement of Roma neighborhoods. The idea is that they clean the places where they live and continue to take care of maintaining cleanliness.

"Hristo Botev" Primary School in Velingrad celebrated the holiday of its patron with a solemn concert in ONCH "Vasil Levski". On the eve of Botev's day, on June 1, the alumni of the school offered a rich program to the many guests, among whom were the deputy mayors G. Yanev and I. Babuchi.

EDUCATION The director of SOU "V. Emil Mollov was among the 18 school principals invited by the Head of Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria to participate in a public discussion on the quality of Bulgarian education on June 5 in Blagoevgrad.

OUTSIDE Community Center "Father Paisii" called an extraordinary meeting on June 3 to fill the composition of the new board elected days ago. In front of the gathered 86 members of the community center, the chairman Tsvetan Kotev announced that for personal reasons the elected Atanas Gushevilov and Atanas Koev could not present the necessary documents for court registration of the community center. Two municipalists were elected in their places: the chief architect Todor Enev as a member of the community council and the lawyer Vladimir Despotsky as a member of the inspection commission.
