BON Ekaterina Kaferinova, municipal and district leader of the Agricultural People's Union, is leaving for Bonn this week for a meeting of the European People's Party. The international forum of the EPP will be attended by four representatives from the national leaderships of the right-wing parties GERB, DSB, UDF and ZNS.



OPRD The fifth meeting of the Monitoring Committee of Operational Programme "Regional Development" (OPRD) was held on 3 December in Grand Hotel "Velingrad". Liliana Pavlova, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and representatives of the European Commission took part in the work.

COMPETITION The National Center for Social Rehabilitation (NCRD) won the competition announced by the municipality of Velingrad for an external provider of the "Protected Home" service. The protected dwelling "Velina" was revealed this year with funding under the PHARE program, and in the next 5 years it becomes a state activity and will be managed by the NCSR.

SESSION The Operational Bureau of the Municipal Council of Velingrad meets on 7 December. The regular session for the month will be moved to an earlier date (most likely December 17) because of the Christmas holidays.

Even before the student holiday December 8, Velingrad again became a real "student city". And this year the resort was chosen as the center of the party by many future graduates.

WEB DESIGN During the week the Pedagogical Council of Secondary School "Vasil Levski" - Velingrad decided from the next school year a new class to be revealed. The parallel technical profile will offer training in the modern specialty "Multimedia and Web Design". Admission will be on papers after eighth grade with ball forming grades in mathematics and fine arts.

EXHIBITION Artist Vasil Goranov opened his next exhibition in the capital on 7 December. For the event, to which many citizens from Velingrad were invited - in the next issue.

The singers from the Zvanche Music School invite to their traditional Christmas concert. The place is restaurant "Bonjur", on December 12, Saturday, at 11 o'clock.

LAG In the Municipal Children's Complex on December 3, another meeting was held to create a Local Initiative Group (LAG) and develop a common development strategy between the municipalities of Velingrad, Belovo and Septemvri. Meetings will continue next year.
