MARKET The Regional Governor Ivan Dimitrov stopped as unlawful the decision of the Municipal Council - Velingrad to grant concession to the Cooperative Market. The move of the district government sends the problem to the District Court and stops the concession procedure for the Market indefinitely.

BULGARD The Municipal Council of Rakitovo gave its consent for the municipality to participate in the future company Bulgard, which will take care of the preservation of the agricultural produce on the territory of the municipalities of Velingrad and Rakitovo. In addition to the two municipalities, the businessmen Assen Ivanov and Atanas Birnikov will participate in Bulgard. With the onset of the agricultural season, the first thefts in the fields and the dissatisfaction of private farmers with the lack of effective security are already a fact.

The great actress Stoyanka Mutafova will play the central role in the comedy "Mrs. Elementary Disaster" with which the private theater "Perpetum mobile" will visit in Velingrad on July 11. The performance will be in the hall of the community center in Ledgene.

On June 6, a large group of Velingradians went to the village of their ancestors Kovachevitsa to participate in the second gathering-meeting of the big Banev family. A family book is presented at the council, collecting the history of 10 generations who lived over three centuries.

A jubilee literary collection of works by local poets and writers will be presented on July 15 within the Festivals of Culture.
