The number of patients with pneumonias in Velingrad is growing, which are a common complication after the flu. The number of admissions to the Children's Department exceeds 60, which required the use of Neurological and Infectious Ward for children. A flu epidemic in Velingrad has not been declared.
Over half a ton of trout from the kennel of the Association of Hunters and Fishermen in Velingrad was sold for the holiday. Tails of customers curled up in fish shops as well. This year there was no big "holiday" increase in fish prices.
On December 3, the members of the Union of the Disabled in Velingrad celebrated their international holiday. The celebration took place in the canteen of SOU "St. St. Cyril and Methodius". An address was read to the Velingrad public, which we publish on p. 4.

Avram Gerev won the first prize for the documentary story "Everything for the People" and Dimitar Kudreev for the poem "On the Party". BSP President Toma Pachalov awarded them with President Georgi Parvanov's book "Before and After November 10".
Mayor Dr. Dafov was a guest at the presentation of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov's book on December 9 in the capital. The invitation to the mayor of Velingrad was from his Sofia counterpart Stefan Sofiyanski.
Draginovovo Community Center "Metodi Draginov" is among the winners of the project "Help for Libraries" at the National House of the Book. The community center receives 700 leva to replenish its library fund with Bulgarian fiction and publications for children.
BAZAR Municipality of Velingrad tightens the Christmas-New Year bazaar on the Fountains Square. Traders can use tables from December 20, 2002. by 10 January 2003. The prices are at the approved tariffs, and applications are submitted to the registry of the municipality.
