The procedure under the Public Procurement Act for reconstruction of the main water supply of Velingrad from water abstraction Chukura has started. The Municipality of Velingrad announced a competition for the elaboration of a working project with an estimated value of 88,422 leva and for the implementation of construction and installation works with an estimated value of 2,947,426 leva. The reconstruction is funded by the SAPARD program, before which the municipality won a project last year, but its implementation is delayed because of changed procedural rules.

A 38-year-old shopkeeper with a Volvo collided with a UAZ at Rakitovo's exit in the direction of Velingrad on Thursday morning. The driver of the Volvo took over, and at that point the driver of the UAZ did not wait for a left turn. Both cars were seriously hit, but no one was injured.
