KIDS MAYOR Victoria Zotova, the student in the XI class at Secondary School "V. Levski", took over the mayor's post in the municipality of Velingrad on October 12 - the day of the Bulgarian municipalities. Her program for the day included a staff meeting, a check of the sites being repaired, a meeting with journalists. Victoria Zotova shared that young people her age know little about the work and mechanisms of municipal government and therefore much more such initiatives are needed. After the shorter working day in which the municipality was run by a student, in the evening the OA officials celebrated the holiday with a banquet at Rome.

Landslide At the beginning of this week, the long-awaited repair of the road and landslide under Elbrus begins, the municipality informed. A retaining wall will be built, shifting the roadway and asphalting the road to the Forest Point in the direction of Yundola. The total cost of the repair works is BGN 1 100 000, provided by the Roads Executive Agency.

MONUMENT On October 9, a celebration was held in Yakoruda on the occasion of the liberation of the city during the Bulgarian War in 1912. On Friday, the holy Muslim month of Ramadan ended and the great festival of Sheker Bayram began. Believers gave away baklavas and sweets, and in many places qurbans were also made.
