DISCUSSION Two public public hearings will be held this week in the municipality of Velingrad. On August 18, at 5 p.m., the discussion of the update of the municipality's budget for 2010 was scheduled. On the next day at 5 p.m. in the great hall will be held the discussion about taking on long-term municipal debt from the FLAG Fund for the implementation of the project for strengthening 5 landslides. A meeting of the Municipal Council is also expected to be convened on August 20, which will also discuss the current financial issues of the municipality.
AQUAPARK Municipality Rakitovo is considering building a water park to attract more tourists and create new jobs. The topic was discussed at a meeting of Mayor Emilia Elenkova with representatives of the Austrian concern "Berndorf Baderbau", specialized in construction of water attractions in mountainous areas.
On August 19, the Representative Brass Orchestra with a Cheerleading Band "Dimitar Mechev" went on tour in Hungary. The invitation is from the city of Salt and the conductor of the Attila Fox Orchestra there, who has been participating in the Velingrad Festivals of Culture for two years in a row. Our and the Hungarian orchestra will play together for the feast of St. Stephen, and the tour program also includes a trip to Lake Balaton and a visit to an equestrian centre. The musicians and cheerleaders will return on August 22.
JOB 78 jobs will be created in the municipality of Rakitovo under various programs. 15 of them are for the recently graduated mountain guides, 30 for road maintenance workers in the municipality, 11 will work as rescuers in cases of disasters and accidents, there will be single places for inspector of ecology, locksmith, lathe, etc. Training will begin in the fall.
