During the week, workers from Stroykom fulfilled the order of Mayor Stoyan Dulev for shaping the crowns of the linden trees in Nikolaj Gyaurov Square. This has not been done for quite some time, the crowns need shaping and the municipality set on the principle "Better late than never". But according to specialists, the time for cutting the branches was chosen extremely inappropriately, right at the time of flowering of the lindens. Many of the citizens who witnessed the sight of the severed large branches were also unhappy with what they saw.

A woman died in a lightning strike in Kostandovo last Sunday. Three sisters were returning from the field and had reached the main street of the city when, at about 2.25 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, the sky turned black and a violent thunderstorm broke out. The fallen thunder struck one of the sisters, born in 1954, who died on the spot.

The employees of the Municipal Administration made a trip to the nearby part of Greece and to the island of Thassos. On Friday they left for an "exchange of experience" in Gotse Delchev, and on Saturday they spent the day on Greek soil. Before the excursion, the employees received leaflets explaining exactly which shops would be visited and reminding that the municipality should be polite "even abroad".

A 55-year-old Seat driver in Dorkovo hit the 84-year-old T. W. from the same village. The driver maneuvered in reverse, in which the woman was injured and placed in hospital with injuries and fractures, but with no danger to life.

AWARD Angel Goranov won his seventh award from a national literary competition: second place at the contest "Spring My 2007", whose organizers from the community center "N. Vaptsarov” Sofia sent the poet a very beautiful diploma.

ACOHOL During the two days off, police caught two drivers driving after drinking alcohol. On Saturday, 21-year-old A was detained in Rakitovo. M. with 1.37 permila, and on Sunday in Velingrad the same fate befell the 25-year-old A. L. with 1.57 promil. Both were detained for 24 hours in custody and are facing speedy police proceedings.
