SELF-KILLING 37-year-old Petar Iliev, head of CCB - Velingrad, committed suicide on December 16 afternoon in one of the bank's service premises. He shot himself with his own legally owned gun. There is an investigation into different versions of the causes that led to the suicide.

EXPERIENCE The municipal councilors travelled on 17 and 18 December to Bansko and Gotse Delchev to meet their colleagues from these municipalities and explore their experience. On December 17, the councillors were accepted by the mayor of Bansko, Mr. Kravarov, who told how the prosperous municipality works with the Municipal Council and private investors and how they develop projects. On December 18, the councilors visited the new GPP - Gotse Delchev. At the beginning of this week, councilors and municipal officials from Velingrad and Rakitovo will also gain experience at a seminar organized by the National Association of Municipalities in Kamena BLC.

The Pazardjik company "BILD" won the competition and signed a contract for the large-scale renovation of SOU "St. Cyril and Methodius". The total investment is nearly 200,000 euros provided by the Social Investment Fund under a project in which the municipality participates with co-financing.

GLOBA The district court imposed a fine of 500 levs on V.I.E. Mayor Stoyan Dulev. The reason is that on December 13 he did not appear for the third time in a case he had filed against a decision of the Municipal Council - Velingrad.

TOURISM A second meeting of the Hotel and Restaurant Association and the Regional Development Agency was held on 13 December. More ideas for future collaboration were discussed, including the construction of an outdoor picnic area for the resort guests.
