ENERGIA The municipality has submitted to the Ministry of Education energy efficiency projects for 5 schools: The Children's Complex, OU "Hr. Botev" and OU "N. Rila” in Velingrad, Secondary School “Hr. Smirnenski" in St. Petka, OU "V. Levski” in Krastava. The total value of the projects is 529,649, and the goal is replacement of the joinery and repairs of the heating systems of the school buildings.

SESSION On April 26, the regular for the month meeting of the Municipal Council will be held. The annual reports of VKTV, the municipal hospital and the Information Center for Small and Medium Business will be discussed. Items for property swaps rejected a month ago are back on the agenda. Again, separate waste collection will be discussed, with the eco-ministry having set the municipality a deadline of May 23 to conclude a contract with a separate collection company.

AIR During the past week for 3 days air measurements were carried out in Velingrad. A mobile laboratory for the study of ambient air quality will measure indicators at 7 locations in the city. Specialists from the Environment and Water Agency - Plovdiv will summarize the air purity data in our city by the end of 2007.

CASE On April 20, the Pazardzhik District Court continued the case against Tsv. Tyufekchiev, Il. Yurukov and L. Sazdov, accused of kidnapping and beating two 17-year-old youths from Velingrad. The motion for an out-of-court settlement was not accepted, the case continued.

PROTECTION On April 19, the municipal round of the student civil protection competition was held in the yard of the District Court. 10 teams from 5 schools competed in two stages: solving a natural disaster test and a practical task - first aid in fractures and bloodstopping. The teams of OU "Neofit Rilski" won the race in both age groups and will represent the municipality at the upcoming regional round in Pazardzhik.
