On September 22, Bulgaria's Independence Day was celebrated with an official ceremony of raising the national flag in front of the Municipality. In his speech, Mayor Dr. Dafov appreciated the great historical value of the event and its projections today. The official program was attended by the Representative Brass Orchestra and Cheerleading Band, the ensemble for authentic folklore from Draginovo and the group "Chepintsi" at the community center "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Chepino. The celebration was attended by municipal councilors and officials, political leaders and a relatively small number of citizens.

The honorary citizen of Velingrad Manol Cholev enters his centenary. On this significant occasion, an organizing committee is preparing a worthy celebration of Mr. Cholev's birthday. On 28 September, Saturday, at 11 o'clock in the central square "Fountains" concert will give a choir "Mountain Song - Philip Avramov" from Sofia. After that, the celebration will continue in the hall of the Open Society Club with congratulatory addresses to the jubilee.

All directors of social assistance services from Pazardzhik region gathered on September 17 at a seminar in Velingrad. Over 2000 applications for solid fuel heating have been submitted to the Social Policy OS in Velingrad.

POLICE Over the weekend, a seminar of the National Police Syndicate "Podkrepa" was held in the rest station of the Ministry of Interior in Velingrad. More than 70 police officers from all over the country took part, discussing many current problems of the congregation - first of all the working hours, which exceed 40 hours a week. A special guest was the president of the Italian police union Giorgio di Bladze. As a common problem for Bulgarian and Italian police officers, he cited low pay.
