MEDAL Forum "Bulgaria - Russia" awarded the mayor of the municipality of Velingrad Ivan Lebanov with an anniversary medal "65 years since the victory over fascism" in recognition of his activity for the development of Bulgarian-Russian relations. Chairman of the forum, which is under the auspices of President Georgi Parvanov, is Svetlana Sharenkova. Jubilee medals were also given to 20,000 living veterans of World War II.



From July 30 to August 1, including the stage in Dorkovo will gather the participants in this year's international festival for spring folklore. From Friday to Sunday inclusive will sound the performances of more than 50 folk groups.

ARCHAEOLOGY The second international student brigade for archaeological research of Ostrets has started. This year under the direction of prof. Diana Gergova works with archeological students from Poland, Portugal, France and Canada and Bulgaria.

A week later on the same stage was presented the performance "Beauty Will Save the World" by Dostoevsky with the participation of young actors Niki Iliev, Asen Blatechki and Sanya Borisova.

A man and a woman from Velingrad with initials S. D., 33. and C. B., 30 years. were arrested for stealing a wallet of documents, credit and debit cards. The alert was filed with the police by a 28-year-old resident of Petrich, and in the meantime the thieves were able to withdraw 400 leva from one of the cards.
