May 24 At exactly 11 o'clock on May 24 the central square of Velingrad was announced by the favorite Bulgarian anthem "Go, people revived". The orchestra with a cheerleading ensemble "Dimitar Mechev" and the City Choir "Nikolay Gyaurov" filled the square with a mood for the day of Bulgarian education and culture. Today we face growth with pride and self-confidence in front of our rich historical heritage, said Mayor Ivan Lebanov in his greeting to the citizens of Velingrad and the guests of the city.
In the festive program took part the singers from the music school "Zvanche", dancers from KST "Impulse", the student choir of Secondary School "Vasil Levski", vocal group "Karaoke" and the folk ensemble "Chepinche".




I ACCEPT Mayor Ivan Lebanov and his wife Rositsa received an invitation for the reception on the occasion of May 24 in the National Palace of Culture in the capital. The invitation to them was from the hosts - President Georgi Parvanov and his wife Zorka.

Honours Mrs. Milanka Veleva, lecturer in geography at Secondary School "Vasil Levski" Velingrad, was awarded on the occasion of May 24 by the Minister of Education Daniel Valchev with the honorary distinction "Neofit Rilski" for her long-standing work and contribution as a teacher. KINO Velingrad is again left without a cinema. The reason is the lack of enough viewers and the fact that the cinema in the community center in Ludjene forms only 30% of the required turnover.
