PROJECT
Nearly 6,000 euros won the Municipality of Velingrad with a project to create a Youth Centre, which will be funded by the Central European Institute. The project has been developed by Angelina Mavrodieva and will provide good job opportunities for youth and non-governmental organizations in the municipality.

GARDENS
About 50 parents signed a petition against the municipality's decision to work only two duty groups for 50 children in Fantasia kindergarten in the summer. Parents insist that there should be a duty group in every neighborhood, the municipality reported that this is impossible due to planned renovations of the buildings for which the summer months will be used.

GREEKS
About 50 doctors from the hospital in Serres, Greece visited on Saturday and Sunday in Velingrad at the invitation of the manager of the municipal hospital Dr. J. Savova. They were welcomed at the Kamena Hotel by the management of the municipality. The program was done by the brass orchestra and the cheerleading squad, and the guests received as a gift a plaque with the emblem of Velingrad, made by the artist Boris Kostov. On Sunday, Greek medics visited and examined the Velingrad hospital and met with their local colleagues. The idea is for future cooperation between the two medical institutions.

KARA TEPE
Regional Forest Management - Mazardzhik may file a lawsuit against the Municipality of Velingrad. The RUG believes that the municipality gave for private construction of villas plots from the forest fund, which were subsequently often expanded. A commission is expected to check the situation on the ground and come up with a solution.

ASFALTING
Funds have been provided for asphalting the ring road of Velingrad, which has been littered with huge holes for years. The municipality will announce a public procurement for a contractor company.

IMAMI
Another graduates from the school for imams in the village. Sarnitsa received their training diplomas last week. The celebration was honored personally by the Grand Mufti Selim Mehmed, the Chairman of the Municipal Council - Velingrad Nedzhat Kehayov, the Mayor of the village Shukri Yakubov and others.

ANEZITSA
The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy will allocate about 10 000 leva for the construction of a washing machine and a bridge in the Gypsy neighborhood of Anezitsa in Velingrad. If this happens, at least in part two of the main problems of the population inhabiting the neighborhood will be solved.

TARG
At a secret auction on June 20, the municipality offered to buy three regulated land properties. Although the plots next to the Military Sanatorium and in Kamenica are re-announced, no candidates showed up for them. The third plot, on ul. "Hristo Smirnenski" was bought by the only candidate - the municipal official K. Tsveev for 6105 leva (with 5 leva above the initial tender price).
