BUDGET Last updated 2008 budget will make the Municipal Council the last session of the year. The meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. on December 30, with the Standing Committees meeting first.

CONCERT ONCH "Vasil Levski" welcomed the Christmas holidays with a concert on the evening of 23 December. From the stage a greeting to the audience with song, dance and music were directed by the amateur groups to the community center.

THEATRE The amateurs from the theatre collective at ONC "Otets Paisiy" visited on 22 December in Yakoruda. At the invitation of their colleagues there, the Velingradians showed excerpts of their theatrical productions.

A 38-year-old driver lost control of his BMW SUV and drove into the guardrail on the road to Pashovo on the evening of December 21. No one was injured, but there was serious damage to the vehicle.

PROMILS In the greenhouse days in custody were again picked up drivers caught driving after the use of alcohol: the record holder is K. D., 41, from Velingrad with 2.4 promila, followed by Velingradian H. T., 24. with 1.74 and the Rakitian S. N., 52. with 1.51 promil.
