NOMINATION Mayor Ivan Lebanov was unanimously nominated as Chairman of the Sports Committee of the National Association of Municipalities (NAMRB). This happened on February 8, when the mayors of 57 municipalities from the South Central Region held a regional meeting at the St. Petersburg Hotel in Plovdiv.

COMPETITIONS The Ministry of Education announced a competition for the post of Director of the Vocational School of Woodworking "Ivan Vazov" in Velingrad. This is the only announced competition for director of a public school in Pazardzhik district. The competition for director of the Social Assistance Directorate in Velingrad, announced by MLSP, is also underway.

CASE Last week, the court postponed to March 31 the case in which MP Fidel Beev was charged for unpaid 27,000 lev taxes and 43,000 lev undeclared income. The postponement is due to delays by the prosecution.

Arrests Police have arrested two Veligradians I.K. 37 years old. and Z.Y. 36, caused a loud brawl and fight in a local establishment on the evening of February 6. The district court fined them 100 and 80 leva for the hooligan act. The 25-year-old H.K., who smashed all the glass of a foreign Fiat car in the area of Bucemisha, was also detained.
