COMPETITION On April 10 in the Ministry of Health was held a competition for manager of the Specialized Hospital of Pneumo-Phthisiatic Diseases "St. Petka Bulgarian” Velingrad. Three candidates have appeared for the post: the current manager Dr. Elena Shopova, Dr. Tsvetan Dafov and Dr. Lucien Ardinski. The examination committee is expected to announce the result of the competition within 10 days.

BEACH A group of Italians explored the Central Mineral Beach and the Indoor Pool last week. With them were also representatives of the Basin Directorate - Plovdiv. The beach is one of the sites for which the municipality is looking for an investor.

The morning course of the narrow-gauge on the route Velingrad - Septemvri was restored from the first week of April. This was also thanks to the petition organized by Veligrad citizens against stopping the train and depriving people of alternative and cheaper than bus transport.

From Monday to Friday at a huge attendance passed the prophylactic examinations for breast cancer, organized by the Center for Protection of Rights in Health and the Municipality of Velingrad. Dozens of women took advantage of the opportunity to be examined free of charge by metropolitan specialists. Those who passed the prophylactic examination also filled out a questionnaire, which will serve to organize other similar campaigns.

The Grand Mufti Mustafa Hadzhi on Sunday visited Velingrad. He met with Muslims from the region in the great hall of the municipality.

The repair of the roundabout in front of the railway station has been completed. Due to the renovations, the section was closed and this created traffic jams at the traffic lights.

ORDER The Municipality of Velingrad announced a small public procurement worth BGN 175,650. It is for the renovation of Georgi Benkovski Primary School, including external thermal insulation, putty, painting, replacement of joinery, vertical planning and drainage of the seriously damaged school building.

THEATRE The amateur theater at ONC "Father Paisii" travels on April 17 to Kozloduy, where it will participate in a theater festival. For the participation, the residents of Velikograd prepare the award-winning play "Heaven Without a Roof". Part of the preparation for the festival are the two performances that the theater will perform this week in front of students from OU "Hr. Botev” and PGGS “Hr. Botev".

ASSOCIATION The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Velingrad Valentina Tsvetanova took part in the Hebar Association Assembly, which was held in Plovdiv on April 11. The association is a member of municipalities from South Central Region, which elected a new Board of Directors and made changes to the statute.

AWARD Maria Lilova, Maria Borisova and Vera Semerdjieva from PGIT "Al. Konstantinov” won the First Incentive Award in the final round of the national competition on the topic of "Water - a source of life". Their leader is Mrs. Magdalena Belukhova, and the multimedia presentation of Mrs. Snezhana Pohlupkova was awarded a diploma.

KARAOKE The vocal group "Karaoke" at the ODC took part in the national contest for children's funny song, held from 4 to 6 April in Plovdiv. Our singers have performed very well and received an invitation to participate next year.
