FOREST VELECTANIAN Assoc. Stefan Yurukov was appointed by Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev to head the newly formed state forest agency. The decision of who will head the important ministry had been waiting for a long time, and in the end the important position was taken by the former Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture St. Yurukov. Among his first tasks in the new post will be to deal with social discontent, which is a fact among forest officials. Because of their low wages and poor working conditions, they announced that they would protest on October 4 this year.

The director of Social Assistance in Velingrad Milena Daskalova left the post by mutual consent. She is among the candidates for municipal councilors from the list of "Defense". Petar Tabakov was appointed as interim director of the service until a competition was held.

The Minister of Environment Dzhevdet Chakarov recategorized 4 buffer zones on the territory of Pazardzhik district into protected areas. TEAMS 245 children from socially disadvantaged families in the municipality of Velingrad will receive sports kits in connection with the beginning of the school year. 10 unregulated landfills have listed experts from RIEW-Pazardzhik on the territory of the municipality of Velingrad. The inspection has again issued prescriptions to the mayor of the municipality to be prepared financially secured plans for the phased closure of landfills.
