The Municipality of Velingrad celebrated a century since the declaration of Bulgaria's independence with a concert in N. Gyaurov". After the mayor Ivan Lebanov's speech songs for Bulgaria were sung by the graduates of "Zvanche" and "Karaoke" and the Bulgarian rhythms recreated the performers of the folk ensemble "Chepino". Before the concert in front of the municipality with the participation of the Representative Brass Orchestra with a cheerleading squad "D. Mechev" was raised the national flag and the flag of the EU. On September 16, heavy rains and stormy wind caused damage in several settlements of the municipality of Velingrad. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, street pavements in Sarnitsa, Rohlevo, Draginovo were destroyed. In Butrevo, 10 roofs of houses were damaged, and in Sarnitsa there was damage to the roofs of the school's sports hall and 2 houses. In Ablanica, a thunderstorm temporarily interrupted el. the power supply to the pumping station.

The Director of the Regional Police Commissioner Emil Ganchev awarded 16 firefighters from Pazardzhik district on the occasion of their professional holiday on September 14. Among the awarded for high professionalism and fast and effective actions in extinguishing the summer fires in July and August is the chief firefighter Krum Karov from RS PAB - Velingrad.
