In the past week, the Regional Inspectorate of Public Health Control has declared a flu epidemic in Pazardzhik. In Velingrad and the municipality, a flu epidemic has not yet been declared. The morbidity data submitted by GPs and schools have not reached critical values and so far officially declared influenza epidemic in Velingrad and the municipality does not.

WATER An accident of the water supply from Lepenica left a large part of the population of Velingrad without water on 22 and 23 January. Water supply was temporarily suspended in parts of the Chepino and Kamenica districts.

DEPUTY The DPS-MP Fidel Beev ranked in the list of nearly 200 occupying high public positions who have submitted to the Court false property declarations for 2007. The MP did not register participation in companies and income of his wife.

FOREST Vocational High School of Forestry "Hristo Botev" will again host the national forest multi-boy competition, which includes competitions in planting saplings, recognizing plant and animal species, felling and cutting trees, hunting shooting and other disciplines. The competition will be held in Velingrad in early May.
