MARKET The councillors allocated 3600 leva, which are intended for drainage of the Cooperative market. For decades, with each heavy rain, part of the Market and the street to it have become a lake because of the poor drainage system.



MALE 24 undersized classes will be held in the next school year in settlements from the municipality of Velingrad, the local parliament decided. Due to lack of enough children in Pashovo there will be 5 undersized classes, in Grasheno 3, in Honey meadows and Pobit stone of 8. As of this year, a municipality will only fund the shortfall of 132 students 20%, not 100% of the amount for one student, as it has been so far. In Magerovo, Tsvetino, Gorno Birkovo and Cholakovo there will be independent half-day groups with fewer children.

In connection with an application from Chepinotransport, it was proposed that the buses of the Sofia-based company Elina 3.1 Ltd. would stop at the square next to Kalna Banya. The company serves the Sofia - Velingrad line and thus is a direct competitor of Chepinotransport. The manager of Elina 3.1 told the councillors that buses could only stop at bus stations and any other decision would be contrary to the law. By 23 votes "against" the councillors rejected the request of "Chepinotransport".

As a co-owner in JSK "Orpheus" the municipality will participate financially in the urgent repair of the roof of the low body. The session decided to provide 2,000 leva plus the participation of the municipal construction brigade in the repair works. Repair of the roof will also benefit the Ledgene Retirement Club.MEDIATORS So far, the municipality of Velingrad was the only one that did not have health mediators to work with the Roma population. On July 29, the Municipal Council approved 2 staff units, which are funded by the state. Two mediators were trained. They will support health activities in the Roma Anezitsa and Asphalt Base neighborhoods.

NGO The NGO "Mladost - aspiration and chance" chaired by Juliana Kovacheva received a free right to use a room in the Municipal Children's Complex for a period of 5 years. The room will be used as a children's pop-up recording studio.

TSO The Municipal Council approved the assessment of a licensed valuer under which Rositsa and Ivan Lebanovi could purchase the land under a contract for TSO (awarded right to build) since 1985. The area of 492 sq.m. is valued at 11,269 leva.

EVN The councilors agreed on 8 requests for permission from EVN to develop a scheme for el. power supply in different neighborhoods of Velingrad. EVN declares that the replacement of the existing network will improve the power supply.

The request of Svetla Zahova for amendment of regulation and increase of her plot on the Cooperative market from 88 to 165 sq.m. was rejected. in order to shape an adjoining terrain for a two-storey residential building.

On behalf of the Initiative Committee "Let's Work for Velingrad" Sofia Klyuchkova read a declaration-address to the mayor and the Municipal Council, which sounded assessments and criticism on current municipal topics.
