The basic monthly salary of mayors and deputies, which will be in force from 1 June 2009, was determined. The mayor of the municipality will receive 1460 leva and the mayors of town halls between 540 and 680 leva.



MONEY The councillors again voted many decisions to allocate funds, which are relied upon to come from over-execution of own revenues. It was decided to provide 25 000 leva for laying curbs on streets in Sarnitsa; 2600 leva for repair of the heating installation in Kindergarten "Children's Paradise" in Velingrad; 12 000 leva for completion of the sports ground in "Hristo Botev" Primary School in the district. Kamenitsa; 6000 leva for the purchase of air conditioners for the protected dwelling for elderly people "Velina"; 6000 leva for emergency replacement of plumbing in the school in Sarnitsa.

PARALLELKI The councilors approved more undersized classes - in the schools in Honey meadows, Pobit stone and St. Petka. The municipality will have to finance the classes with about 65,000 leva.

FLAG Mayor Ivan Lebanov was authorized to negotiate and conclude a contract with the FLAG Fund to finance the activities of the Public Works Project for the Parks in Velingrad. The project has a total value of nearly 10 million leva, and in the course of its implementation the municipality is obliged to provide 30% of the amount.

Two requests for digging and laying of water pipes for hot mineral water were approved. Hotel "Holiday" will be supplied with mineral water from the locality "Velingrad-Chepino No 18", laying water supply on Blvd. "Vasil Levski". The "Metko-2000" for water supply along Hristo Smirnenski Street was also granted the right to dig, and the hotel complex will draw water from Vlasa.

COMPETITIONS Following decisions of the Municipal Council, the municipality is about to announce competitions for renting several sites: the cafe-shop in the building of the Children's Complex, a room in the Youth House in St. Petka, a spot of 68 sq.m. for a grocery store in Kamenitsa, 3 spots for commercial activity in Draginovo and a kiosk for snacks in St.St. Cyril and Methodius” in Velingrad. A public auction with a secret bidding will be announced for 16 sq.m of municipal land in Sarnitsa.

A replacement requested by Yasen Semchev was not approved, which offered to give its property of 2.558 acres in the Brezi area against a municipal property with an area of 2.192 acres in the Lepenica area, used since 1982. for the accommodation and breeding of bee families. The proposal failed to garner the required majority of 20 votes in favour.

TRACE "Mobiltel" EAD was awarded the right of servitude for underground cable el. a power supply route for a base station that falls into a municipal property in the area of the Quarantines to Krastava. The length of the route in the municipal Polish road is 772 meters and the price is 6166 leva.

The size of the water supply zone, which is an exclusive state property, in the plot of the Central Mineral Beach was reduced. Until now, the radius of the sanitary protection zone around the mineral water source was 15 meters. Amendments to the ordinance allow it to be reduced to 5 meters. Chief architect Todor Enev explained to the councillors that this will allow to develop a new look of the Beach with a sports and attraction complex.

DEPO The Municipal Council gave consent for the Municipality of Velingrad to participate in an association for the construction of a regional landfill. Voting procedure is currently in progress for participation in the other 8 municipalities of Pazardjik region.

CATALOGUE 2000 BGN of the tourist fee will be allocated by the municipality for inclusion in the catalogue of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA. Velingrad will be presented as the SPA capital of the Balkans on 4 pages, two of which will be paid for by the hotels, members of the union. The catalogue is in Bulgarian, Russian and English and will be distributed when participating in tourist exchanges.

Sign At the insistence of those living on ul. "Hristo Botev" will be removed the sign "Forbidden entry of PPP" at the intersection with ul. "St. Sv. Cyril and Methodius". Until now, the sign had blocked residents' access to their garages and parking spaces. The change was proposed by councillor Lazar Belev.

AUTOBUS A 27-seat school bus will be provided to the school in Graevo. The municipality received the bus from the Ministry of Education on September 29. The proposal to use the school in Grashevo is of Mayor Ivan Lebanov, who especially thanked for the assistance of GERB MP Angel Daskalov.
