STRATEGY The Child Protection Commission proposed an action plan for a one-year period until July 2007, which was adopted by the Municipal Council. The priority will be to reduce the number of children raised in specialized institutions and improve the conditions in them. The main task is the restructuring of the Home for Children Deprived of Parental Care, which operates in Velingrad. Since 2007. these types of homes pass to the municipalities. Money for their funding will be sought on projects to PHARE or will be granted by the state.

New transport schemes for public transport of passengers by buses were adopted. The councilors from Sarnitsa insisted that the number of buses should be increased on the line Velingrad - Sarnitsa, as now only one is traveling, and there is no bus at all on Saturdays. After accepting the transport schemes, the procedure for announcing a competition for choice of carriers will begin.

The Municipal Hospital will purchase recycled apparatus for hemodialysis from Fresenius - Gabrovo. The price of 15 000 BGN will be paid from its own revenues to "MHAL-Velingrad". With the purchase of the new apparatus, the hemodialysis department will have 5 hemodialysis posts.

PARK The municipality decided to offer a replacement to the owners of a restituted plot in the park opposite the house of N. Gyaurov on ul. "Han Asparuh". The original idea was for the heirs to be compensated with money, such as for their 600 sq.m. from the park a licensed appraiser set a price of 17 835 leva. The councillors estimated that the amount would not satisfy the owners and therefore they would be offered a replacement with two municipal properties above the school in Kamenica, thus ensuring the preservation of the park.

A competition will be announced for the rental of the municipal premises on ul. "Al. Stamboliyski", in which Postbank is now a tenant. After a discussion in the Municipal Property Commission at the suggestion of Al. Daskalov was set an initial rental price of 15,000 leva - nearly three times more than the basic rental prices set by the Municipal Council.
