Without any comments in the hall and with 21 votes "for" the councilors accepted the proposal that the volleyball player Dimo Tonev be awarded the title "Honorary citizen of Velingrad". Only Councillor Boris Kostov abstained. It was not announced when the ceremony of awarding the title would take place.



The Commission for Child Protection presented a report on its work during the period June 2009 - June 2010. and next year's program. The two documents were voted by the Municipal Council without remarks and additions.

After the latest amendments to the law, the Municipal Drug Council will have the status of a commission. A municipal program for prevention of drug addictions 2010 - 2011 was adopted.

The capacity of the Day Care Centre for Children with Disabilities was reduced from 35 to 24 units. The reason is that because of the crisis, the planned branch in Sarnitsa cannot be revealed at the moment. As of 1 January 2011. increased seats in the Day Care Centre for the Elderly - from 35 to 40 people and in the Community Support Centre - from 24 to 36 people.

The councilors granted 25 190 leva under a contract from April 2009. to finance projects under the program "From Social Assistance to Employment Assurance" (OSEP), on which the municipality works in cooperation with the Bureau of Labor. The money must be provided by over-execution of own revenues.

The municipality provides for use 10 of its premises in Velingrad and settlements from the area of the state-owned company "Bulgarian Posts". The company requested a gratuitous right of use, but the councilors did not agree and decided the right to be paid - "Bulgarian areas" to pay at the fixed basic rental prices.

With full unanimity, the councillors refused the conversion of a property from public to private municipal property. The property is a grocery store next to the transformer post at Sulfur Bath.

With 13 abstentions, the proposal to extend the lease term concluded with ET "Krassimira Dafova" was rejected. The point of extending the contract for the use of the Tepavica site in Chepino was withdrawn from the agenda.

The valuations of municipal properties, which are to be announced for sale, were accepted. The municipality will sell properties in Medeni Polyani, Draginovo, Pobit stone and shop in Velingrad, kv. Chepino.

As the owner of the municipal hospital, the local parliament gave consent for a manor of the regulation line between the property of "MHAL-Velingrad" and the neighboring property of "DCC-1". The new regulation line is in line with an approved property boundary.
