The Municipality of Velingrad will proceed to the termination of the waste disposal contract with the firm of the former mayor "Beev and Beev" Ltd. Because of the scandalous contract, a legal dispute is currently taking place, which means that the procedure under the Public Procurement Act is not yet over. In this situation, the decision of the Municipal Council - Velingrad to terminate the contract signed by the previous interim mayor Stoyan Dulev must be implemented. The about 200,000 leva paid by him from the municipal treasury of Beev and Beev will also be the subject of a lawsuit.
The new government in the person of the temporary mayor Atanas Vodev has found a formula by which money can be paid for the activities of the municipal company Stroycom, which, despite the huge financial difficulties, did not stop cleaning. Since August, however, the municipality by order of Stoyan Dulev has not acted the work of Stroycom, but only of Beev and Beev. The option to take the municipal company out of the deadlock is an increase in capital by about BGN 100,000. Such a draft decision will be offered to the Municipal Council, which owns Stroycom. If it is supported, there is a chance that the firm will get back on its feet, and the nearly 130 workers will keep their jobs.
