The son of Nikolay Ghiaurov Vladimir last week was in Velingrad and made a new donation to the Historical Museum. The donation includes a large number of personal belongings of the world-famous opera singer, awards, scores, documents.
The most valuable is the international award given to Nikolai Ghiaurov by Kurt Waldheim and the photo with a personal autograph that sealed this moment. The museum now also holds a cropped in Austria medal with the image of the opera singer and the matrix on which it is made. Among the exhibits that will attract interest are anniversary stamps for the 50th anniversary of Ghiaurov, his personal pen, many orders and awards. Vladimir Ghiaurov has conferred on the Velingrad Museum decrees and diplomas, with which his father was awarded the Dimitrov Prize, with the titles of People's Artist and Hero of Socialist Labor, Doctor Honoris Causa of the Music Academy, Honorary Member of the Sofia Opera, the first major award from Warsaw in 1955, when the star of N. Gyaurov. In the collection of the Historical Museum - Velingrad are already many personal documents of our famous citizen: the student certificates for primary education and student notebooks from the upper classes, military and health book, research done in Moscow, personal notebook of his father Georgi Gyaurov. Here are also two letters written by Nikolay Gyaurov as a student in Moscow in 1951 and 1952. to his parents in Velingrad. After the death of N. Ghiaurov in the museum continue to receive materials and memories of him. The director of the Historical Museum, Snezhana Veleva, makes a request to anyone who owns photographs, documents or other materials, boiled with N. Ghiaurov, to provide them for the future museum exhibition.
