Vladimir Ginovsky is a native of Galichnik, Debarsko. A descendant of the Furchkov family (ferch meaning brush), which originated sometime in the 13th century, and his descendants are masters of the famous Debar school of icon painters and carvers, who studied the "icon on a golden background" in Italy at Cimabue, by whose name the beginning of the Renaissance in Italy is associated.
With such ancestors behind them and with the teachers prof. Andrey Nikolov (given the idea of shaping Kleptuza as a park, for capping and lakes), Prof. Marko Markov (author of the monument to Patriarch Evtimii), Vladimir Ginovsky made 50 monumental works. Among them are: in the Italian capital Rome - a monument to Cyril and Methodius, in Murmansk - also, in Hungary and in Washington, USA - a monument to Vasil Levski. About the monument he made to Cyril and Methodius in front of the Ivan Vazov National Library in Sofia, he said: "One day, when I stand before God, I will not be ashamed of this monument." Its is the monument of Colonel Serafimov in Smolyan, as well as the monument of Alexander Zankov - the author of the monument of the fallen in the wars in front of the church "Assumption of the Virgin" in Ludzhene.
Vladimir Ginovsky has a new creative task - to sculpt a bust-monument on the opera bass Nikolay Ghiaurov. The future monument of Nikolay Gyaurov is also the topic of our conversation with sculptor Vladimir Ginovsky:
- Mr. Ginovsky, we, the citizens of Velingrad, provoked your creative thought with the idea of creating a bust-monument of Nikolay Ghiaurov. How do you relate to this idea?
- I am touched that at these years I still have the strength to respond to a new task, to a new challenge from the field of portrait monumentalism. I have to create a bust-monument on the world bass, of our compatriot and your fellow citizen Nikolai Gyaurov. New and new ideas are constantly born in my mind how to be him Nikolay Gyaurov - in his role as an artist to express his inspiration or to be a portrait of his period when he became Number 1 in Coven Garden, in Milan's La Scala, because he is a peak achievement in opera singing and art and most importantly our national pride. However, I also have a condition, the implementation of which will help me in my work. It is about providing me with photo, video and documentary materials from the life and work of Nikolay Ghiaurov.
- Besides your creative inspiration and ideas, what do you think we should do - Veligradians, so that the bust-monument of Ghiaurov to become a fact?
- In my opinion it is necessary to form one civic committee, which will be for example of 5 people and will include a representative of the Municipality, an architect, an artist and other representatives of culture. This committee will be judging the idea project and will have to accept one-to-one in clay the sculptural image, which in the original will be of bronze.Moreover, this committee together with the Veligradians must work very seriously to realize this wonderful idea. And here is the place to say that as far as I am concerned, to my work - I do not want to talk about money, but in my opinion the implementation of your idea will be within 25,000 levs.
- Your wish?
- In 2005. will mark 1 year since the death of Nikolay Gyaurov. My wish is that by then the bust-monument will be ready and I believe it will be!
