The comedy "Sunboys!" by the American playwright Neil Simon was presented for the second time after the premiere in Varna on August 12 in Velingrad. In the hall of the community center "Father Paisii" there was not a single vacancy, including on the aisles with additional chairs. The audience was rightly attracted by the names of Vasil Mihaylov and Ivaylo Hristov - old friends of Velingrad, who for years have not missed to visit our stage every summer. This year their class duet was joined by another rising star of the capital's Theater of the Army - Anastasia Ingilizova.
The play with a very subtle sense of humor tells of two comedians with past fame who have played together on stage for 43 years, hated each other for 12 years and haven't spoken to each other for 11 years. There comes a time for a new meeting, for a new engagement and rehearsals, where the lives of both of them get so messed up that in the finale it brings them back together - this time in a home for old artists.
This funny-sad story was wonderfully presented by the "sunboys" Vasil Mihaylov and Ivaylo Hristov and Anastasia Ingilizova. Among other things, they also showed a real sense of improvisation with the audience, which paid off with sincere enthusiasm and a lot of applause.
After the end of the performance, the actors received a basket of flowers on behalf of the municipality and the mayor Dr. Dafov and from spectators, among whom were many of the leaders in the center-left coalition and the candidate mayor of BSP Zavarin Marov.
Vasil Mihaylov emphasized that it was not by chance that they chose to play the play for the second time in Velingrad - "heaven on earth", which is getting better and wished success to all who want to become mayors. "We will come again" was the promise to the audience from Velingrad, who loves and expects such meetings with the great theatrical culture. The next one will probably be in the first days of September, it is currently being specified whether we will watch Tatyana Lolova or Stoyanka Mutafova on a Velingrad stage.
