However many tales we may speak that the snow in December is not a surprise, but the most normal natural phenomenon, there will always be someone to refute this alphabetical truth.
This year the "honour" fell to those responsible for cleaning the roads from the republican road network in the municipality of Velingrad. At their address, dozens and hundreds of drivers did not spare fair reproaches, because the road lanes in the direction of Varvara, Yundola and Srnitsa were in extremely poor condition. For years, the gorge to Pazardzhik was not left in such a tragic state with uncleaned large clumps of ice and huge unsalted sections. The road is a slide - this was the finding of anyone who passed through the twenty kilometers of the gorge. And the number of travelers was extremely high, which is also completely in order on the eve of holidays when everyone travels for work. This led to the formation of huge columns of clumping cars, waiting at any moment for a clump or ice section to hurl them into someone's bumper or fender. Given that we have paid both taxes and vignettes, this is nothing like, angry drivers commented and vowed that they would no longer pay after the responsible factors did not do their job.
The Traffic Police - Velingrad reacted to the scandalous situation with the uncleaned roads by imposing an act of the road services responsible for cleaning. The act is the first for this winter and therefore by law it is in the amount of 100 to 1000 levs, and in case of repeated violation the amount jumps to 5000 levs. The traffic police chief, Major Jordan Rogachev, indicated in the act the entire section from Varvara to Avram huts. The responsibility for the uncleaned road lies with the District Road Administration, whose authority is to conclude a cleaning contract with a contractor company. Because of the scandal, on December 22 District Road Administration terminated the contract with the company "Kolevi Brothers", which is supposed to clean the republican road network on the territory of our municipality. According to unconfirmed information, the company has justified itself with outstanding amounts for snow removal. The new company selected by the District Road Administration, which must henceforth maintain the roads in winter conditions, is Georgi Delchev. It will not be easy for her, as the icy tracks along the gorge are unlikely to melt anytime soon. However, on Friday the situation on the gorge visibly improved.
Within Velingrad, snow removal since the beginning of December is entirely the responsibility of the municipal company Stroycom. Since December 1, the company has terminated the contract with Beev and Beev, who have been cleaning the central boulevard and several other sections. Stroycom managed to cope within their capabilities, part of the technique again blocked because of the cold. For the company Beev and Beev remained to clean in winter conditions the interurban roads in the municipality. I hope that what happened around the first serious snow this winter on the main roads to Velingrad will not become a practice. Otherwise, let us not make illusions neither for tourism, nor for serious business, nor that those drivers who pay taxes will increase.
