For those Veligradians who were wondering "When will the time come?" for important personnel shifts at the local level, the answer came in the past week. CAFERINOVA - FIRED?

On October 9 and 10, there were reports that Mrs. Ekaterina Kaferinova was dismissed from the post of manager of the Medical and Recreational Base of the National Assembly and the Council of Ministers. Mrs. Kaferinova herself during the whole week was not open for comment on her work and mobile phone. She was absent from all the tender committees that sat in the municipality and from the solemn session on October 12. The news was indirectly confirmed by Mayor Dr. Tsvetan Dafov. At a briefing on 11 October, he pointed to what happened to Mrs. Kaferinova as an example of a "yellow broom" and political dismissal, for which no motive was indicated. Journalists reminded the mayor that Ek. Kaferinova was dismissed from the same post by the previous Prime Minister Ivan Kostov in the period around the 1999 local elections (then she ran for mayor on behalf of the People's Union against the UDF candidate Dr. Dafov, and after the election she was reinstated as the base manager). Dr. Dafov agreed, but stressed that in 1999 Mrs. Kaferinova had a temporary employment contract, and now a permanent one. According to the mayor, there is already sufficient evidence that the leaders of the parliamentary lists from the ruling majority on the ground are engaged in personnel policy. The intrigue around the post will continue, as there are many candidates for it. For quite some time this service has symbolized who is closest to power in Velingrad. Over the past week, personnel changes in the forestry sector have acquired specific names and political dimensions. After more than 4 years in the industry dominated the BZNS-People's Union, now came the turn of the ruling agriculture ministry from the MRF and their larger partners from the NMSS. Mr. Geno Peev, who during the parliamentary elections was coordinator of the National Movement "Simeon II" in Velingrad, has been appointed director of State Forestry "Velingrad" since 10 October. Slavi Vasilev place. The appointment was both expected and disputed, as until the last moment there were serious claims from the DPS and local politicians gravitating towards the movement. On the same date October 10, Eng. Musa Hoxha was officially presented as director of the State Game Farm in the Chehlyovo locality in place of Mrs. Vaska Kolchagova. The new director was a municipal councilor from the DPS in the previous Municipal Council, and for some time he was also the municipal chairman of the party. Mr. Geno Peev and Mr. Musa Hoxha have serious professional practice in the industry and have been appointed as interims until competitions are held. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has repeatedly convinced that they will appoint directors with permanent contracts only after a competition. In Velingrad we are yet to see how things will look in practice. Elena Baeva
