Literature Club "N.Y.Vaptsarov" together with the municipality and ONCH "Otets Paisiy" organized on October 13 in the City Art Gallery a meeting-conversation with Nikola Gigov.
Nikola Gigov is a literary artist who ranks among the artists of national importance, said at the presentation of the guest Avram Gerev. His family came from the Western suburbs and lived in Smolyan for more than 50 years. Nikola Gigov in 1956. along the Hungarian events he was expelled from the university and for 7 years was in prisons and camps, after them he settled in Smolyan and laid the beginning of an outstanding creative activity. Since the early 1970s, he has authored 44 books, including 11 poetry collections. More than 2500 publications, of which 300 translated into French, Russian, Georgian, English and 50 screenplays for films. Outstanding genre diversity: stories, essays, historical studies, poems, of which more than 100 have become song lyrics. He has been awarded numerous times, he has won 4 gold medals for overall creativity, and this year the SBP awarded him the First Prize for Poetry. Having set out on the path of the Argonauts, Nikolai Gigov came to Colchis-Georgia and there he was awarded the title of "colch".
Nikolai Gigov's strength is in Orpheus, to whom he devoted years of searching, researching documents and legends and as a result writing 6 books about the singer of the Rhodope Mountains. He proved that one of the 90 Thracian tribes of Bessi - the God-speakers who lived in our lands, had a writing. And accepting its evidence, world scientific thought treats with respect the established in Smolyan International Orfeevsky Center chaired by Nikola Gigov.
To the citizens of Velingrad, the "resurrect" of the myth of Orpheus, Nikola Gigov said: "Orpheus is the world's greatest peacemaker. He was a wonderful myth and legend about the Euredica-loving singer, taken over by the Greek mythological pantheon, but he is not anymore." Nikola Gigov admitted that his research began with exactly Orpheus' name and quoted Apollinaire, who said "Orpheus is wilder than the 7 wonders of the world" and Beethoven, who admitted that while he composed "Ode to Joy", Orpheus was with him. For the researcher N.Gigov, the biggest sin of Bulgarian Thracology is precisely the fact that it did not accept that the Thracians had a writing. Today in the museum in Berlin there is a vase from Sicily that reveals the Thracian letter. N. Gigov shared that after 35 years of searching he looked at the vase and with his subconscious he felt that there was something in it and it turned out to be true. The Chinese used the method of diminution and overlaying - a method that the Bessians had also mastered. And he, with the help of the technique, enlarged the letter and realized that the great Thracians-bess hid their knowledge and thus reached the 6 stone tablets. At 2188 m altitude at the villages of Gela and Mugla are these plates and for them the concept of "words in silence" is in full force, that is words carved on stone. Gela's plate has 1000 letters, and the one at Plow with 2000 and has a cross sign, which speaks of Christianization. Greece stopped the protests for Orpheus because the Iliad and the Odyssey were written 700 years after Orpheus, who predeceased on the eve of his death and the birth after centuries of Jesus Christ. European historical thought began to accept that we are the godparents of Europe because of Orpheus.
Among the specialists in Europe, Nikola Gigov has earned the name "Smolyan miracle worker". Among the scholars who corresponded with him were the Hungarian professor Ferenc Kisch, who said "The Rhodopes for me are the Bulgarian Ithaca"; Jan Frenkel from Moscow; the Japanese prof. Misako Maki calls him Nikola San; the Finnish professor Harry Salman is adamant: "I believe that the Bulgarian land is the womb of European culture," and Prof. Michael Stepp of the University of Nevada, after filming the TV movie "N. Gigov - The Explorer of Orpheus", has begun translation of the books about Orpheus. Nikola Gigov's student from the school in Gela - the teacher from Hristo Smirnenski Secondary School in Rakitovo Hristo Kantarev said about his teacher: "I am delighted with him. He is a great Bulgarian, singer of the Rhodopes, spiritual brother of Orpheus. I am sure that his work will stand because he leads Europe to us." Finally, some of Orpheus' translated verses and thoughts:
"Love is stronger than death", "The earth can be conquered with a lyre, not with a sword!", "My God is Love!", "I want to be sky-starry, all-seeing, to look at you with all these eyes!"
