Just a week after Dr. Tsvetan Dafov submitted his resignation as chairman of UDF-Velingrad, the municipal leadership of the party elected an interim chairman. An eng was elected as the Vrid chairman of UDF-Velingrad. Tanya Goncheva, current secretary of the organization and currently deputy mayor of the municipality. Neither of the two vice-presidents of the party was appointed by the Municipal Council as the Vrid Chairman of the UDF because: Shukri Yakubov as Mayor of Sarnitsa by law has no right to hold this post, and Dr. Ivo Gugalov was absent from the meeting.
Taking into account the decision of the NIS to convene a National Conference of UDF in mid-October, the municipal leadership of the party decided that the General Assembly of the organization, at which to elect the new chairman, will be held in November.
Until then, apart from the current issues before Eng. Goncheva stands the challenge related to the participation and presentation of UDF - Velingrad in the upcoming partial elections for mayor of the municipality in September.
