"100 years of funny theatre" is the working title of the production, with which the theatre collective at the community center "Father Paisii" will celebrate its 100th anniversary. On March 31, the evening was the first rehearsal under the direction of director-designer Marius Donkin. The new play will be a musical hall with many songs and dances. It will feature a maximum number of amateur actors - both veterans of the Velingrad stage and the newest additions to the cast.
The 100th anniversary of the theater will be celebrated solemnly in July and will be a kind of culmination and finale of the Festivals of Culture. The first performance on the theatre stage in the village of Ledgene in 1905. was the play "Potters" and the first actors were Philip Glaveev, Olga Tineva, Moses Pramatarov, Ivan Ushev, Thomas Tarpanov. In 1949. at the head of the theater stands Georgi Popov, and his work continues Minka Popova. Over the past 100 years, amateurs have played nearly 120 productions under the leadership of Vasil Spasov, Petar Kyuchukov, Georgi Balabanov, Georgi Pashov, Veselin Kovachev, Joseph Venkov, Plamen Kartaloff, Mrs. Atanasova. The list of actors loved by the Velingrad audience is very long.
