The 24-hour pharmacy auction was postponed

13.12.2003 01:48 •
The municipality's announced for December 3 competition for a round-the-clock pharmacy failed to take place. The reason is that the municipal councilors did not elect their representatives to the tender commission. Thus, despite the availability of bids, the rental procedure for a period of 3 years per 30 sq.m. municipal land does not start. The spot is behind the church in Ludjene, on the corner next to the bus stop in the direction of Kamenitsa and there is the problem that it is a green area.
This is actually a second postponement of the contest. The first order for its conduct was released by Mayor Dr. Tsvetan Dafov, who scheduled it for November 27. Meanwhile, the new Municipal Council was formed and the mayor's post temporarily took Angel Toporchev. He issued a new order for the competition, in which some of the conditions were changed- The most important thing was that the requested bank guarantee of BGN 25,000 was dropped.
The contest is now to be held on the reserve date of December 11. Velingrad undoubtedly has a huge need for a round-the-clock pharmacy, a huge number of residents and tourists have experienced on their own what it means not to be able to urgently find the medicine they need after 21 hours. Therefore, it may be hoped that the new councillors will elect their representatives to the tender committee in a timely manner and that the twice-stopped procedure will be conducted in such a way as to protect the public interest.
