Avram Gerev - born on 22 September 1920. in s. Kovachevitsa, Gotsedelchevsko. He graduated in Bulgarian Philology at Sofia University. Ohridsky". He works as a teacher, school inspector and director of a high school, holder of the title "Chief Teacher" and I grade qualification. Founder and editor of the pedagogical magazine Teacher's Tribune (1980-1991). Author of the books "Bagley portraits of people who are fond" (1999), "Good is there" (2000), "There is no eternal winter, there is no eternal evil" (2004), "In the beginning was the word" (2005). Co-author of the literary collections Chepintsi (1983), Rodopi Voices (1993), Love I Want to Give Them (1996), Paradise Valley (1997), Messages (2002), Don't Forget I Exist (2003). Member of the editorial board and co-author of the Encyclopedia Chepino. Winner of the Cyril and Methodius Order (1973), an honorary medal of the SNPB and a plaque-statuet for contribution to the cultural life of Velingrad.

With the kind celebration in the mayor's office, organized by the municipal leadership, on September 22 - Independence Day, artists and friends celebrated the 75th birthday of Avram Gerev. Jubilary is a teacher, artist, public figure, chairman of the literary club "N. Vaptsarov", of which he has been a member since the late 1950s, member of the Union of Independent Writers, Vice-President of the Union of the Disabled in our city. A congratulatory address, a commemorative sign, the luxurious edition of the Council of Ministers "This is Bulgaria" and a painting by a Velivgrad artist donated a vrid Mayor Atanas Vodev to the artist and wished him life, health and what the artist paints with a brush, he will continue to describe in words. Dr. Alexander Popov was extremely excited, saying: "I am excited because today we celebrate the 75th anniversary of a representative of my generation, which I call the generation of the Second Millennium after Christ... Avram Gerev is a man endowed with the consciousness of a mission to leave this world better than it was." And he expressed his "personal claim" to Avram Gerev: to be alone and to remember everything from infancy to today and to tell the truth without fear of anyone and nothing, leaving faithful to his own conscience.
A congratulatory address with the words "Thank you for the beauty you bring into our lives..." and a picture gift to Avram Gerev ONCH "Father Paisii" and the Historical Museum - an icon.
With the words said by Anton Donchev at his meeting a month ago with Velingradians "Our path is wrong because we walk with our backs to the spiritual," began his excited word-gratitude the author of "Good is there", of "There is no eternal winter, there is no eternal evil" Avram Gerev. He thanked Mayor Vodev, the entire municipal leadership, the community center "Father Paisii", all who are in "this so his day" together with him.
